Superfan is the new artist moniker of teenage dynamo Kali Flanagan, who released two EPs under the name KALI.
Released in April, “For You” is the singer-songwriter-producer’s first single since last spring’s sophomore EP, “Maltman and Effie.” The song, the origins of which date to spring of 2021, is a noisy bop that settles into an infectious groove, letting Superfan croon some relationship baggage.
Via social media, Superfan reports there is a record in the works, and with a couple of residency gigs in the offing at Genghis Cohen, the summer should bring some clarity about what the artist has cooking.
