World Cafe, the nationally syndicated NPR program hosted by David Dye, kicks off the Los Angeles edition of its “Sense of Place” series this week. Dye and his team from WXPN in Philadelphia recently visited L.A. to conduct interviews, tapes sessions and explore the terrain (“How do I look?” Dye asked on World Cafe’s Facebook page after visiting a familiar landmark in Silver Lake). The World Cafe host also chatted briefly with Buzz Bands LA about some emerging Los Angeles bands, and one will be featured in a short segment each day this week.
