Timing might not be everything, but often it counts for a lot. Poolside’s new single arrives just in time for triple-digit temperatures to soundtrack whatever you do to beat the heat. The clink-clink of ice cubes tumbling into an open glass could hardly sound more inviting.

Poolside, founded by Jeffrey Paradise and Filip Nikolic, debuted its signature “daytime disco” sound — head-bobbing bass, waterfalls of synths, treacly melodies and glistening production — almost a decade ago, and their 2012 debut “Pacific Standard Time” (along with their remake of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon”) is still a staple of pool party DJs everywhere. After the release of the 2017 album “Heat,” Paradise expanded the live lineup, spending much of the past 18 months touring with drummer Vito Roccoforte (The Rapture), bassist-singer Mattie Safer (The Rapture), percussionist Brijean Murphy (Toro Y Moi, U.S. Girls) and saxophonist-keyboardist/multi Casey Butler (Pharaohs). Nikolic, meanwhile, has been working on music under the name Turbotito.

“Can’t Stop Your Lovin’,” Poolside’s first new music in two years, is a shimmering disco-soul number that features Panama, aka Australian singer-songwriter-producer Jarrah McCleary. “This represents the new high-water mark for Poolside as it combines all the special elements that make up a classic Poolside jam with a well-developed vocal courtesy of Panama,” Paradise says. “‘Can’t Stop Your Lovin’’ is the most fully realized vision of Poolside yet and I hope that it finds a place in the soundtrack to your life.”
