With live venue and museum lockdowns stretching toward their fifth month, the Skirball Cultural Center, normally about to kick off their Sunset Concerts series right about now, announced their pivot to a one-night only international online event, “Skirball Stages,” featuring L.A. R&B-dance-pop phenom Gavin Turek and Korean folk-rock ensemble AK Dan Gwang Chil (ADG7).

The free event will broadcast performances filmed in the Skirball’s Taper Courtyard in Los Angeles (in an audience-less, safely distanced production) and Seoul, South Korea, on Aug, 29 at 8 p.m. on YouTube.

Turek, who made a splash at the Skirball in their “Into the Night” series in 2016, will woo audiences online with her ’80s- and ’90s-inspired favorites and songs from her upcoming debut album.

ADG7, recently releasing their second album, “인생 꽃 같네 (Looks Like a Life Flower),” played the Kennedy Center in January and were scheduled to bring their unique fusion of rock, Korean shamanic “gut” and folk “minyo” to the Skirball stage before travel plans were axed by the pandemic.

To make the event a more immersive experience, Skirball’s Executive Chef, Sean Sheridan, has designed a tantalizing, Korean-themed prix-fixe menu (with vegan and gluten-free options available, plus options for wine by-the-bottle) available for day-of-show curbside pick-up. Recipes for some of the dishes will also be posted for free online.

Reservations for the show and the “Skirball Suppers” open tomorrow at 10 a.m. (dinners must be ordered before Aug. 26 at 4 p.m.).
