Jesse Jo Stark has played femme fatale since her “Deadly Doll” days, and even back to 2014, when she released her debut EP, produced by the Sex Pistols’ Steve Jones.

The 31-year-old singer-songwriter leans into the persona heavily in the Tarantino-esque video for her new single, “So Bad,” which introduces her debut full-length, “Doomed” (out Sept. 21).

The song features another prominent Jesse — Rutherford, of the Neighbourhood. He, along with Jonesy, Stark’s brother (Kristian) and father (Richard), appear in the Ramez Silyan-film that casts the singer as “The Slayer,” bound and determined to avenge her brother.

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results,” Jesse Jo Stark says of the song, which was co-produced by Rutherford and Michael Harris. “‘So Bad’ is about the vicious cycle of going after something you want, even though you know it’s bad for you.”
